fins to the left, fins to the right

This past Tuesday, my boyfriend(Sam) and I headed to Atlanta for some fun in the sun at Jimmy Buffett!  He has so sweetly gotten tickets as a graduation gift.  We had a blast making new friends in the sweltering heat!  It was my first trip to "Fin-land" and I doubt it will be my last.

After such a great time, I had to head back to Statesboro for a couple of days of work.  I'll be leaving tomorrow evening to celebrate the Memorial weekend at Lake Sinclair with my boyfriend and his friends.  I'm making a batch of lemon squares tonight to take with me - I'll let you know how they turn out!  My grandmama used to make them all the time when I was younger and I felt they would be the perfect little treat!
Here's the recipe:
1 box lemon cake mix with pudding
1 egg
1 cup chopped pecans
1 stick of softened margerine
---mix & place in a 9x13 pan
1 box of 4x powdered sugar
2 eggs
1 8oz cream cheese (soft)
2 tbsp lemon juice
---mix & spread over base in pan
Bake at 350'F for 3o-40ish minutes

Hiya!

So I find myself today being a bit inspired.  As I plan to have an eventful summer (and future) I've decided blogging would be the best way to share my life with those that care! And also to keep up with myself while providing a convenient way to browse sweet memories.  Voila, welcome to my blog site!

I've spent a fabulous week back home enjoying my precious grandparents and some down time.
My grandmother(Marguerite, Mamaw, Mams, sweet ol' granny) and I picked some peaches from our blooming tree in the backyard (YUM!) Here are few pictures of our pretty little Georgia peaches!  We also played with our two poms and I naturally took the opportunity to snag their pics as well, it's so funny how their personalities can be seen on camera too! (Speaking of personality, one pup (Gus) just ran through the house with a box of KFC in her mouth...which beats the day I caught her completely INSIDE a bag of chips!)

I also took my first visit to "The Swamp" this weekend with a great group friends.  Abbye, Stace, Ashley and I had a blast with the crazy, country group of boys they hang out with!  We all hung out at the sandbar on the Flint River enjoying life!
